The comeback of Ionela

4 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.

Luis closed the table from the back, on 61 points — there is always a next game. Luis had the table at their feet after the last of the opening eights. Whist was there to remind them nothing lasts forever.

Third, on the podium: Ana, up there with eyes on the top step. Ana was even in front after the last of the middle eights.

Second place went to Mihai, with 73 points. In the first of the middle eights: Mihai said 1, scooped 5, and Luis was left counting the pieces. Mihai spent a long time on the red lantern and came out clean — determined not to buy the round.

Ionela crossed the finish line first, on 80 points. Ionela only went in front at the very last hand. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.
