Codrin, from start to finish

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 35 slips at the table and scores from 135 down to 30.

Codrin won at a stroll, with 135 points and 38 clear of the rest. In front from the third of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. At one stretch, 10 good hands in a row.

Vyce took second with 97 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Vyce said they'd take nothing in the six-card hand on the way down... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.

Adell rounds out the podium with 73 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. The seven-card hand on the way down: Adell bid 6, made fewer, and counted the regrets.

Luis took last place without any nerves at all, on 30 points. In the last of the opening eights: Luis said 2, made 6, and the evening was ruined for Adell. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Luis said and... hoped. It didn't hold.
