Elena, from start to finish

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 37 slips at the table and scores from 118 down to 52.

Elena wins by 37 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. In front from the third of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. At one stretch, 7 good hands in a row.

Monica took second with 81 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere.

Third, and on the podium: Emi, with 75 points. Emi said they'd take nothing in the three-card hand on the way down... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.

Vyce took last place without any nerves at all, on 52 points. 3 hands in a row: the table said and did, Vyce said and... hoped. It didn't hold. Before the last eights, only 7 points off the podium — the pace just didn't hold.
