The comeback of Cretu

The lead passed from hand to hand, 5 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Ana took last place without any nerves at all, on 44 points. In the first of the middle eights: Ana said 2, scooped 5, and Elena was left counting the pieces. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Ana said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Elena rounds out the podium with 69 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. 2 hands in a row: Elena broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. Elena was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Mihai finishes second, 9 points short of gold. Silver shines, but not quite the same. Mihai was even in front after the two-card hand on the way up.
