Luis wins the evening

A game of broken contracts — 37 of them around the table, and scores from 115 all the way down to 52.

Elena took last place without any nerves at all, on 52 points. The table was Elena's after the six-card hand on the way down; the second half had other ideas. 3 hands in a row: only Elena slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Elena.

Third, on the podium: Ana, up there with eyes on the top step. Ana left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Mihai took second with 85 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the five-card hand on the way up: Mihai said 1, scooped 4, and Ana was left counting the pieces. From the tail of the table to a warm spot: Mihai plays right down to the last card.

Luis finishes on 115 points, 30 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems.
