Ana wins the evening
5 players · 30 September 2026
One evening, 5 players, a single crown. The rest — stories to tell over coffee.
Cristian Imparat took last place without any nerves at all, on 76 points. In the second of the closing eights, Cristian bid 3 and took 6 — and Nico went down with it. 2 hands in a row: Cristian broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.
Daniel S finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 92 points. Daniel said they'd take nothing in the second of the opening eights... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.
Third, on the podium: Kiki, up there with eyes on the top step. Kiki was ahead of Nico right up to the last hand. Kiki was even in front after the two-card hand on the way up. The second of the closing eights: 2 chairs thrown at Kiki in seconds 🪑 — the table spoke its mind, furnished and all.
Nico took second with 107 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. The last hand decided it: Nico went past Kiki right on the line. In the third of the middle eights: Nico called 0, took 5, and Cristian Imparat and Kiki were left out in the cold. Nico couldn't bear to look 5 times 🙈 — some cards are not meant to be seen.
Ana wins by 23 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Ana didn't — but insisted, with dignity. At one stretch, 9 good hands in a row.
Well played everyone. Same table next time?
