The comeback of Mihai

The lead passed from hand to hand, 7 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Elena closed the table from the back, on 62 points — there is always a next game. After the five-card hand on the way up, Elena was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

edge rounds out the podium with 64 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. In the first of the closing eights, edge bid 1 and took 6 — and Elena and Mihai went down with them. 2 hands in a row: edge broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Vyce led for 17 hands but finished second, 9 points behind. 2 hands in a row: Vyce broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

First place: Mihai, with 86 points. The rest, see you in the replay. Mihai was even last after the six-card hand on the way down, which makes the win all the sweeter. At one stretch, 8 good hands in a row.

Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
