The comeback of Luis

The lead changed hands 4 times — nobody got comfortable at the top.

Mihai took last place without any nerves at all, on 75 points. In the last of the opening eights: Mihai said 3, scooped 6, and Luis was left counting the pieces. 5 hands in a row: the table said and did, Mihai said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Third, on the podium: Daniela, up there with eyes on the top step. Level on points with Kiki, and behind only on the tie-break. In the first of the middle eights: Daniela said 3, made 6, and the evening was ruined for Luis.

Runner-up sounds good — gold sounded better. Kiki, with 94 points. Kiki got past Daniela at the very last hand. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Kiki didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Luis won the game with 98 points. Luis was even last after the second of the middle eights, which makes the win all the sweeter. 10 good hands in a row — at one point, Luis was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards. Luis cried laughing 3 times 😂 — a fun evening, at least on one side of the table.
