The comeback of Mihai

The lead changed hands 8 times — nobody got comfortable at the top.

Last place: Kiki, with 57 points. Kiki was ahead of Elena right up to the last hand. After the three-card hand on the way up, Kiki was leading the table — but the last hands had other plans.

Elena completed the podium with 64 points. The last hand decided it: Elena went past Kiki right on the line. 2 hands in a row: only Elena slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Elena.

Ana took second with 70 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Ana was even in front after the five-card hand on the way up. From the tail of the table to a warm spot: Ana plays right down to the last card.

Mihai won at a stroll, with 93 points and 23 clear of the rest. In the second of the opening eights: Mihai said 1, scooped 4, and Ana was left counting the pieces. 3 hands in a row: the table said and did, Mihai said and... hoped. It didn't hold.
