A tug of war, won by Laura

The lead passed from hand to hand, 4 times over — it was anyone's guess.

First place: Laura, with 110 points. The rest, see you in the replay. Going into the last hand the lead was already 25 — that one was a lap of honour. At one stretch, 10 good hands in a row.

Mihai took the runner-up spot with 92 points. 2 hands in a row: Mihai broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. Mihai spent a long time on the red lantern and came out clean — determined not to buy the round.

Third, on the podium: edge, up there with eyes on the top step. edge said they'd take nothing in the two-card hand on the way down... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.

Last place, with dignity: Elena, with 61 points. Somebody had to do it. Leading by the book until the seven-card hand on the way down... then the cards turned the page. Elena, hard luck. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Elena didn't — but insisted, with dignity.
