Ana comes back from behind

The lead passed from hand to hand, 4 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Ana finished level and took the win on the tie-break: fewer broken contracts. Whist rewards the player who keeps their word. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. 2 hands in a row: only Ana slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Ana.

Elena led for 19 hands but finished second, 0 points behind. Level on points with Ana, and behind only on the tie-break. Elena was ahead of Ana right up to the last hand.

Third, on the podium: Victor Mihail, up there with eyes on the top step. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Victor didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Mihai closed the table from the back, on 82 points — there is always a next game. 4 hands in a row: Mihai broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. After the two-card hand on the way up, Mihai was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.
