Ilinca wins the evening

Another evening at the green baize — a bit of everything, just like home.

Sebi took last place without any nerves at all, on 88 points. 2 hands in a row: only Sebi slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Sebi.

Mihai finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 5th, with 115 points. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Mihai didn't — but insisted, with dignity. After the two-card hand on the way up, Mihai was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Ana finished 4th with 117 points. In the fourth of the closing eights: Ana said 1, scooped 5, and Ilinca was left counting the pieces. After the two-card hand on the way up, Ana was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Third, and on the podium: Yurii, with 130 points. Level on points with Mara, and behind only on the tie-break. Yurii was ahead of Mara right up to the last hand.

Mara finishes second, 11 points short of gold. Silver shines, but not quite the same. The last hand decided it: Mara went past Yurii right on the line. 2 hands in a row: Mara broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

First place: Ilinca, with 141 points. And that despite a slip in the very last hand.
