Nico, from start to finish

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 52 slips at the table and scores from 105 down to 75.

First place: Nico, with 105 points. In front from the first of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. At one stretch, 11 good hands in a row.

Sebi took the runner-up spot with 98 points. In the third of the closing eights: Sebi said 3, scooped 6, and Kiki and Nico were left counting the pieces.

Kiki rounds out the podium with 78 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. The last hand decided it: Kiki went past Ana right on the line.

Neither at the front nor at the back: Ana in 4th, with 78 points. The comfort zone. Level on points with Kiki, and behind only on the tie-break. Ana was ahead of Kiki right up to the last hand.

Last place: Luis, with 75 points. In the third of the opening eights: Luis said 1, made 4, and the evening was ruined for Kiki.

Well played everyone — and especially Nico!
