Elena comes back from behind

The lead changed hands 4 times — nobody got comfortable at the top.

Elena won at a stroll, with 117 points and 31 clear of the rest. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. At one stretch, 9 good hands in a row.

Ana took second with 86 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Ana was even in front after the five-card hand on the way down.

Mihai rounds out the podium with 69 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. In the third of the middle eights: Mihai called 4, took 7, and Denisa was left out in the cold. 2 hands in a row: Mihai broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Denisa took last place without any nerves at all, on 30 points. In the last of the opening eights, Denisa bid 3 and took 8 — and Ana went down with it. 2 hands in a row: only Denisa slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Denisa.
