Radu comes back from behind

The cards went out, and so did the egos. Here is what came of it.

Radu finishes on 133 points, 32 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. 7 good hands in a row — at one point, Radu was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Elena took second with 101 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Elena was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Third, and on the podium: Sebi, with 90 points. In the last of the middle eights: Sebi said 0, made 3, and the evening was ruined for Elena.

In 4th place, Ana, on 82 points. 2 hands in a row: Ana broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. After the second of the closing eights, Ana was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

The tail of the table: Mihai, with 79 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. In the first of the middle eights, Mihai bid 1 and took 5 — and Radu and Sebi went down with them. After the two-card hand on the way up, Mihai was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.
