The comeback of edge

A game of broken contracts — 37 of them around the table, and scores from 81 all the way down to 69.

Last place, with dignity: Ana, with 69 points. Somebody had to do it. The place above was a single point away. After the seven-card hand on the way up, Ana was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Elena rounds out the podium with 70 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. One card, a single card, and Elena still got it wrong on the one-card hand. It happens even in the best houses.

Ioana led for 19 hands but finished second, 6 points behind. In the second of the closing eights: Ioana said 0, scooped 4, and edge was left counting the pieces. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Ioana said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

edge takes the game with 81 points and goes home happy. edge only went in front at the very last hand.

Well played everyone — and especially edge!
