Mihai wins the evening

The cards are back in the box. Here is what happened at the table.

edge closed the table from the back, on 87 points — there is always a next game. In the first of the middle eights: edge called 2, took 5, and Elena was left out in the cold. edge was ahead of Elena right up to the last hand.

Third, and on the podium: Ana, with 89 points. Ana got past edge at the very last hand. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Ana said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Elena finishes second, 6 points short of gold. Silver shines, but not quite the same. The last hand decided it: Elena went past edge right on the line. Elena was even in front after the six-card hand on the way up.

First place: Mihai, with 98 points. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Mihai didn't — but insisted, with dignity. At one stretch, 9 good hands in a row.
