unf0rgettable wins the evening

A game of broken contracts — 35 of them around the table, and scores from 110 all the way down to 68.

Sebi closes out the table, with 68 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. In the last of the middle eights, Sebi bid 0 and took 4 — and Luis went down with it. After the first of the closing eights, Sebi was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Luis completed the podium with 79 points. 2 hands in a row: only Luis slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Luis. Luis was even in front after the three-card hand on the way down.

Vyce took second with 81 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. 2 hands in a row: Vyce broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. Vyce spent a long time on the red lantern and came out clean — determined not to buy the round.

unf0rgettable took the game with 110 points and a 29-point cushion — never really in doubt.

Well played everyone — and especially unf0rgettable!
