The comeback of Vyce

A game of broken contracts — 45 of them around the table, and scores from 67 all the way down to 59.

Last place, with dignity: Daniela, with 59 points. Somebody had to do it. Daniela was ahead of Vyce right up to the last hand. After the six-card hand on the way up, Daniela was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Florentin rounds out the podium with 64 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. The last hand decided it: Florentin went past Daniela right on the line. Florentin was even in front after the third of the middle eights.

Olga led for 19 hands but finished second, 0 points behind. Level on points with Vyce, and behind only on the tie-break. In the second of the middle eights: Olga called 0, took 4, and Florentin was left out in the cold.

Neck and neck with Olga, but Vyce kept their word better when it counted. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
