Luis never gave up the lead

A game of broken contracts — 38 of them around the table, and scores from 100 all the way down to 53.

Mihai took last place without any nerves at all, on 53 points. 3 hands in a row: the table said and did, Mihai said and... hoped. It didn't hold. After the second of the closing eights, Mihai was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Cristian Imparat rounds out the podium with 68 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. In the third of the middle eights, Cristian bid 4 and took 7 — and Mihai went down with it.

Elena took second with 73 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Elena left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Luis finishes on 100 points, 27 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems. In the second of the middle eights: Luis called 5, took 8, and Elena was left out in the cold. In front from the first of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about.

Well played everyone — and especially Luis!
