Ana comes back from behind

The cards went out, and so did the egos. Here is what came of it.

Ana won with 126 points, by a whisker: just 2 points ahead. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there.

Mihai led for 27 hands but finished second, 2 points behind. Mihai left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Ioana rounds out the podium with 123 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. The last hand decided it: Ioana went past Radu right on the line. In the third of the closing eights: Ioana called 0, took 5, and Radu was left out in the cold.

Neither at the front nor at the back: Radu in 4th, with 115 points. The comfort zone. Radu was ahead of Ioana right up to the last hand. After the two-card hand on the way up, Radu was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Emi finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 5th, with 108 points. After the three-card hand on the way up, Emi was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Elena took last place without any nerves at all, on 90 points. In the last of the middle eights: Elena said 1, made 5, and the evening was ruined for Emi.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
