The comeback of Ionela

The lead passed from hand to hand, 6 times over — it was anyone's guess.

The tail of the table: Luis, with 66 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. Luis was ahead of Vyce right up to the last hand. After the five-card hand on the way up, Luis was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Vyce rounds out the podium with 72 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. The last hand decided it: Vyce went past Luis right on the line. Vyce was even in front after the seven-card hand on the way down.

Ana led for 15 hands but finished second, 2 points behind. Ana left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

2 points. That's all. Ionela won in the blink of an eye — so don't blink. It didn't start well — only 4th after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. At one stretch, 10 good hands in a row.

Well played everyone — and especially Ionela!
