Ana wins the evening

A game of broken contracts — 38 of them around the table, and scores from 92 all the way down to 66.

The tail of the table: Luis, with 66 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. The table was Luis's after the seven-card hand on the way down; the second half had other ideas. 2 hands in a row: Luis broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Elena rounds out the podium with 75 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. In the second of the middle eights, Elena bid 2 and took 5 — and Luis went down with it.

Mihai finishes second, 8 points short of gold. Silver shines, but not quite the same. In the five-card hand on the way down: Mihai said 0, made 3, and the evening was ruined for Elena. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Mihai didn't — but insisted, with dignity.
