Luis takes the table

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 34 slips at the table and scores from 117 down to 50.

Luis gathered 117 points and the hearts of the crowd. Bravo!

Runner-up sounds good — gold sounded better. Ana, with 113 points. In the second of the middle eights, Ana bid 0 and took 3 — and Mihai went down with it. Ana was even in front after the five-card hand on the way down.

Third, on the podium: Elena, up there with eyes on the top step. Elena got past Mihai at the very last hand. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Elena didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

The tail of the table: Mihai, with 50 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. Level on points with Elena, and behind only on the tie-break. Mihai was ahead of Elena right up to the last hand.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
