Luis, from start to finish

The cards went out, and so did the egos. Here is what came of it.

Luis comes out on top of everyone, with 103 points. The cards were kind. In front from the first of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Luis didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Cosmin took the runner-up spot with 88 points. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Cosmin said and... hoped. It didn't hold. Cosmin spent a good while in last place and climbed out of it.

Third, on the podium: Cretu, up there with eyes on the top step. Cretu got past Emi at the very last hand. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Cretu didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Last place, with dignity: Emi, with 83 points. Somebody had to do it. In the third of the opening eights: Emi said 2, made 5, and the evening was ruined for Cosmin. Emi was ahead of Cretu right up to the last hand.

Well played everyone — and especially Luis!
