Luis wins the evening

The cards are back in the box. Here is what happened at the table.

Elena closed the table from the back, on 80 points — there is always a next game. 2 hands in a row: Elena broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. 10 good hands in a row — at one point, Elena was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Third, on the podium: Mihai, up there with eyes on the top step. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Mihai didn't — but insisted, with dignity. Mihai was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Ana took second with 92 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Ana said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Luis took the game with 135 points and a 43-point cushion — never really in doubt.
