The comeback of Vyce

A game of broken contracts — 35 of them around the table, and scores from 86 all the way down to 76.

Last place, with dignity: Mihai, with 76 points. Somebody had to do it. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Mihai said and... hoped. It didn't hold. After the four-card hand on the way up, Mihai was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Luis completed the podium with 81 points. In the second of the closing eights: Luis called 2, took 5, and Vyce was left out in the cold. Luis was ahead of Vyce right up to the last hand.

edge led for 22 hands but finished second, 2 points behind. 3 hands in a row: edge broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. edge was ahead of Vyce right up to the last hand.

Vyce won by a whisker, with just 2 points — at whist even one point is as good as a mile. Vyce only went in front at the very last hand. Vyce was even last after the five-card hand on the way down, which makes the win all the sweeter.
