Elena wins the evening

A game of broken contracts — 40 of them around the table, and scores from 91 all the way down to 58.

Last place: Gigel, with 58 points. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Gigel said and... hoped. It didn't hold. After the three-card hand on the way up, Gigel was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Third, on the podium: Kiki, up there with eyes on the top step. Kiki said they'd take nothing in the seven-card hand on the way down... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.

Pity took the runner-up spot with 79 points. In the last of the middle eights: Pity said 3, made 6, and the evening was ruined for Gigel and Kiki. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Pity didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Elena takes the game with 91 points and goes home happy. In the second of the opening eights: Elena called 4, took 7, and Kiki and Pity were left out in the cold.
