Ilinca wins the evening

The cards are back in the box. Here is what happened at the table.

Last place: Alice, with 82 points. In the fifth of the middle eights: Alice said 1, made 4, and the evening was ruined for unf0rgettable. The place above was a single point away.

Neither at the front nor at the back: unf0rgettable in 5th, with 83 points. The comfort zone. In the fourth of the middle eights, unf0rgettable bid 0 and took 7 — and Alice and BigBarbu24 went down with them.

BigBarbu24 finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 101 points. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, BigBarbu24 said and... hoped. It didn't hold. From the tail of the table to a warm spot: BigBarbu24 plays right down to the last card.

Mara rounds out the podium with 108 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Mara was ahead of Cristian Imparat right up to the last hand. 11 good hands in a row — at one point, Mara was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Cristian Imparat took second with 109 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. The last hand decided it: Cristian went past Mara right on the line. Cristian was even in front after the six-card hand on the way down.

Ilinca won at a stroll, with 140 points and 31 clear of the rest.
