The comeback of Mihai

Another evening at the green baize — a bit of everything, just like home.

Luis closes out the table, with 81 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. Level on points with Ionela, and behind only on the tie-break. In the first of the closing eights, Luis bid 2 and took 5 — and Mihai went down with it.

Third, on the podium: Ionela, up there with eyes on the top step. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Ionela didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Ana led for 20 hands but finished second, 9 points behind. Ana was ahead of Mihai right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Ana said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Mihai comes out on top of everyone, with 111 points. The cards were kind. Mihai only went in front at the very last hand.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
