Luis takes the table

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 38 slips at the table and scores from 101 down to 54.

Luis wins by 25 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Luis didn't — but insisted, with dignity. At one stretch, 10 good hands in a row.

Coca took second with 76 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. 2 hands in a row: Coca broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. Coca was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Third, and on the podium: Monica, with 59 points. Monica got past PaulP at the very last hand.

PaulP closed the table from the back, on 54 points — there is always a next game. In the third of the opening eights: PaulP called 1, took 4, and Luis was left out in the cold. PaulP was ahead of Monica right up to the last hand.
