Elena closed the table from the back, on 96 points — there is always a next game. 12 broken contracts, collected like stamps.

Mihai finished 5th with 98 points. 4 hands in a row: the table said and did, Mihai said and... hoped. It didn't hold. Mihai was even in front after the six-card hand on the way down.

Ioana finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 108 points. The place above was a single point away. Ioana spent a good while in last place and climbed out of it.

Third, on the podium: Ana, up there with eyes on the top step. In the fourth of the opening eights: Ana said 0, made 3, and the evening was ruined for Elena. At one stretch, 11 good hands in a row.

Payet led for 13 hands but finished second, 12 points behind. Payet swore 0 in the four-card hand on the way down and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.
