The comeback of Olga

One evening, 5 players, a single crown. The rest — stories to tell over coffee.

Sebi closes out the table, with 67 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. Sebi had the table at their feet after the last of the opening eights. Whist was there to remind them nothing lasts forever. Sebi was ahead of Daniela right up to the last hand.

Daniela finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 68 points. Daniela got past Sebi at the very last hand. In the third of the closing eights: Daniela said 2, made 5, and the evening was ruined for Sebi.

Bot completed the podium with 111 points. Bot left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Daniel S took second with 118 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Daniel said they'd take nothing in the second of the opening eights... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.

Olga finishes on 148 points, 30 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. 15 good hands in a row — at one point, Olga was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
