The cards are back in the box. Here is what happened at the table.

Last place: Mihai, with 62 points. Leading by the book until the last of the opening eights... then the cards turned the page. Mihai, hard luck. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Mihai didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Third, and on the podium: Ana, with 72 points. One card, a single card, and Ana still got it wrong on the one-card hand. It happens even in the best houses.

Elena took second with 89 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. 2 hands in a row: Elena broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. From the tail of the table to a warm spot: Elena plays right down to the last card.
