Mihai wins the evening

A game of broken contracts — 37 of them around the table, and scores from 124 all the way down to 65.

Last place, with dignity: Ana, with 65 points. Somebody had to do it. In the four-card hand on the way down: Ana said 1, made 4, and the evening was ruined for Luis. Ana was ahead of Ionela right up to the last hand.

Luis completed the podium with 66 points. The last hand decided it: Luis went past Ana right on the line. In the third of the closing eights: Luis called 0, took 3, and Mihai was left out in the cold.

Ionela took second with 72 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Ionela got past Ana at the very last hand.

Mihai won at a stroll, with 124 points and 52 clear of the rest. At one stretch, 6 good hands in a row.

Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
