Luis comes back from behind

The lead passed from hand to hand, 7 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Luis comes out on top of everyone, with 102 points. The cards were kind. Luis was even last after the seven-card hand on the way down, which makes the win all the sweeter.

Second place for Ionela, with 88 points. So close to the top they can still taste it — bittersweet. Ionela was even in front after the two-card hand on the way down. 9 good hands in a row — at one point, Ionela was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Mihai rounds out the podium with 86 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. In the first of the closing eights: Mihai called 1, took 4, and Elena and Ionela were left out in the cold. Mihai was even in front after the last of the opening eights.

Elena took last place without any nerves at all, on 50 points. In the last of the opening eights: Elena said 0, scooped 3, and Luis was left counting the pieces.
