CCC takes the table

Another evening at the green baize, and it had a bit of everything.

CCC won at a stroll, with 138 points and 20 clear of the rest.

Cristian Imparat took second with 118 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Cristian was even in front after the seven-card hand on the way down.

Catalin rounds out the podium with 116 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Catalin swore 0 in the four-card hand on the way down and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.

Claudiu finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 102 points. Claudiu got past Mihai at the very last hand. In the third of the closing eights: Claudiu said 2, made 5, and the evening was ruined for Mihai.

Neither at the front nor at the back: Mihai in 5th, with 95 points. The comfort zone. Mihai was ahead of Claudiu right up to the last hand. After the seven-card hand on the way up, Mihai was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Last place, with dignity: Elena, with 86 points. Somebody had to do it. The first of the closing eights: Elena called 6 with the heart, not the cards. Eyes bigger than the hand.

Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
