Ana, from start to finish

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 38 slips at the table and scores from 112 down to 50.

Ana finishes on 112 points, 42 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems. In front from the last of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. 17 good hands in a row — at one point, Ana was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Elena took second with 70 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. 3 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Elena didn't — but insisted, with dignity. Elena spent a long time on the red lantern and came out clean — determined not to buy the round.

Mihai rounds out the podium with 59 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Mihai left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Kiki closes out the table, with 50 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. 2 hands in a row: Kiki broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs. After the first of the closing eights, Kiki was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
