Ilinca never gave up the lead

A game of broken contracts — 55 of them around the table, and scores from 117 all the way down to 60.
The tail of the table: Mara, with 60 points. Somebody has to hold the candle. In the six-card hand on the way up, Mara bid 2 and took 5 — and Scorpio04 and Vyce went down with them. After the five-card hand on the way up, Mara was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.
Neither at the front nor at the back: Scorpio04 in 4th, with 71 points. The comfort zone. After the two-card hand on the way up, Scorpio04 was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans. In the four-card hand on the way up, 2 chairs flew at Scorpio04 within seconds 🪑 — the table had opinions.
Vyce completed the podium with 73 points. In the fourth of the opening eights: Vyce called 2, took 5, and Ilinca and Sebi were left out in the cold. From the tail of the table to a warm spot: Vyce plays right down to the last card.
Sebi took second with 85 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Sebi swore 0 in the fourth of the middle eights and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.
Ilinca won at a stroll, with 117 points and 32 clear of the rest. In front from the second of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. At one stretch, 7 good hands in a row.
Congratulations to all — see you at the next table!
