Pity comes back from behind

4 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.

Pity took the game with 139 points and a 28-point cushion — never really in doubt. It didn't start well — only 3rd after the opening eights — but it clearly didn't end there. 8 good hands in a row — at one point, Pity was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

PaulP led for 14 hands but finished second, 28 points behind. PaulP swore 0 in the four-card hand on the way down and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.

Third, on the podium: Mara, up there with eyes on the top step. The place above was a single point away.

Luis finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 4th, with 105 points. In the fourth of the middle eights: Luis said 1, scooped 5, and Gigel and Matei were left counting the pieces. After the two-card hand on the way up, Luis was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans. Luis couldn't bear to look 4 times 🙈 — some hands are better not watched.

Neither at the front nor at the back: Gigel in 5th, with 85 points. The comfort zone. In the fifth of the opening eights, Gigel bid 1 and took 5 — and Mara went down with it. The second of the closing eights: 1 chair and 1 kiss flew at Gigel 🪑💋 — the table couldn't decide whether it adored them.

Matei took last place without any nerves at all, on 53 points. 17 broken contracts, collected like stamps.

Well played everyone — and especially Pity!
