Mihai comes back from behind

The lead passed from hand to hand, 4 times over — it was anyone's guess.

Mihai finishes on 150 points, 33 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems. 14 good hands in a row — at one point, Mihai was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Vlad led for 10 hands but finished second, 33 points behind. In the third of the opening eights: Vlad said 1, scooped 4, and Ana and Ioana were left counting the pieces.

Ioana rounds out the podium with 98 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. The last hand decided it: Ioana went past Ana right on the line.

In 4th place, Ana, on 96 points. Ana was ahead of Ioana right up to the last hand. After the fifth of the closing eights, Ana was 3rd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Elena finishes right in the middle — neither hot nor cold — 5th, with 95 points. In the six-card hand on the way up: Elena said 1, made 4, and the evening was ruined for Vlad. The place above was a single point away.

Radu took last place without any nerves at all, on 75 points. 13 broken contracts, collected like stamps.
