Luis, from start to finish

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 36 slips at the table and scores from 109 down to 50.

Luis wins by 21 clear. That's not whist any more, it's a parade with a brass band. In front from the first of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about. At one stretch, 8 good hands in a row.

Mihai took second with 88 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. In the third of the middle eights, Mihai bid 1 and took 4 — and Ionela went down with it.

Ana rounds out the podium with 80 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Ana left the robot at the wheel most of the evening and still came out respectable. Teamwork with the server.

Ionela took last place without any nerves at all, on 50 points. In the last of the opening eights: Ionela called 2, took 5, and Ana was left out in the cold.

Well played everyone — and especially Luis!
