Elena never gave up the lead

A game of broken contracts — 41 of them around the table, and scores from 82 all the way down to 67.

Last, but with style: Mihai, with 67 points. At least there were cards worth talking about. The place above was a single point away. After the two-card hand on the way up, Mihai was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Luis rounds out the podium with 68 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. Luis was ahead of Tazy right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: Luis broke the contract each time while everyone else made theirs.

Tazy finishes second, 9 points short of gold. Silver shines, but not quite the same. Tazy got past Luis at the very last hand.

Elena takes the game with 82 points and goes home happy. In the second of the closing eights, Elena bid 1 and took 4 — and Tazy went down with it. In front from the first of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about.

Well played everyone. Same table next time?
