The comeback of Mihai

The lead changed hands 8 times — nobody got comfortable at the top.

Last place: Radu, with 92 points. Radu was ahead of Ana right up to the last hand. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Radu didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Neither at the front nor at the back: Elena in 4th, with 95 points. The comfort zone. The last hand decided it: Elena went past Radu right on the line. Level on points with Ana, and behind only on the tie-break.

Third, and on the podium: Ana, with 95 points. Ana got past Radu at the very last hand. In the third of the middle eights: Ana said 1, scooped 4, and Mihai was left counting the pieces.

Nico led for 13 hands but finished second, 1 point behind. In the fourth of the opening eights, Nico bid 0 and took 4 — and Elena went down with it. Nico was ahead of Mihai right up to the last hand.

Mihai won by a whisker, with just 1 point — at whist even one point is as good as a mile. Mihai only went in front at the very last hand.
