Elena wins the evening

A game of broken contracts — 35 of them around the table, and scores from 103 all the way down to 73.

Last place: Mihai, with 73 points. Leading by the book until the seven-card hand on the way down... then the cards turned the page. Mihai, hard luck. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Mihai didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Third, and on the podium: Kiki, with 84 points. In the last of the middle eights: Kiki said 2, scooped 5, and Ana was left counting the pieces.

Second place for Ana, with 88 points. So close to the top they can still taste it — bittersweet. 3 hands in a row: the table said and did, Ana said and... hoped. It didn't hold. From the tail of the table to a warm spot: Ana plays right down to the last card.
