Luis comes back from behind

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 35 slips at the table and scores from 99 down to 70.

Luis crossed the finish line first, on 99 points. In the second of the closing eights: Luis said 3, made 6, and the evening was ruined for Elena. 3 hands in a row: the table said and did, Luis said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Runner-up sounds good — gold sounded better. Ana, with 85 points. Ana was even in front after the six-card hand on the way down.

Mihai rounds out the podium with 77 points. Bronze still counts as a medal. In the second of the opening eights: Mihai called 1, took 5, and Ana and Elena were left out in the cold. 9 good hands in a row — at one point, Mihai was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards.

Last place: Elena, with 70 points. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Elena didn't — but insisted, with dignity. Before the last eights, only 10 points off the podium — the pace just didn't hold.
