Catalin takes the table

The cards went out, and so did the egos. Here is what came of it.

Catalin took the game with 144 points and a 24-point cushion — never really in doubt. 11 good hands in a row — at one point, Catalin was playing as if they could see everyone else's cards. And that despite a slip in the very last hand.

Adrian Gh led for 12 hands but finished second, 24 points behind. Adrian swore 0 in the third of the middle eights and took a trick — whist has a sense of humour.

Third, and on the podium: Roua, with 113 points. Roua said they'd take nothing in the last of the opening eights... and took some. Whist listens, then does the opposite.

In 4th place, Ana, on 112 points. The place above was a single point away. After the five-card hand on the way up, Ana was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Neither at the front nor at the back: Mihai in 5th, with 94 points. The comfort zone. 2 hands in a row: only Mihai slipped, while the rest said it and did it. The cards were kind to everyone but Mihai.

Last place, with dignity: Elena, with 87 points. Somebody had to do it. 12 broken contracts, collected like stamps.

Well played everyone — and especially Catalin!
