Mihai comes back from behind

4 changes of leader: this one was a tug of war.

Mihai takes the game with 133 points and goes home happy. In the fifth of the opening eights, Mihai bid 2 and took 6 — and Cosmin went down with it.

Runner-up sounds good — gold sounded better. Cosmin, with 125 points. Cosmin got past Mara at the very last hand.

Third, on the podium: Mara, up there with eyes on the top step. Level on points with Cosmin, and behind only on the tie-break. Mara was ahead of Cosmin right up to the last hand.

In 4th place, Ana, on 115 points. After the two-card hand on the way up, Ana was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.

Neither at the front nor at the back: Ilinca in 5th, with 107 points. The comfort zone. In the fifth of the middle eights: Ilinca called 1, took 5, and Ana and Mihai were left out in the cold.

Vlad took last place without any nerves at all, on 89 points. 3 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Vlad didn't — but insisted, with dignity.
