Elena, from start to finish

Another evening at the green baize, and it had a bit of everything.

First place: Elena, with 104 points. 3 hands in a row: the table said and did, Elena said and... hoped. It didn't hold. In front from the third of the opening eights to the end, and nobody got close enough to worry about.

Ionela took the runner-up spot with 92 points. The first of the middle eights: Ionela bid 7, made fewer, and counted the regrets.

Third, on the podium: Luis, up there with eyes on the top step. Luis got past Daniela at the very last hand. 2 hands in a row: the whole table kept its word, only Luis didn't — but insisted, with dignity.

Daniela closes out the table, with 78 points. "Last one buys the coffee" — as they say at the table. Daniela was ahead of Luis right up to the last hand. After the four-card hand on the way up, Daniela was 2nd and dreaming of the podium — but the last hands had other plans.
