Mihai takes the table

An evening with a bit of everything, except contracts kept: 38 slips at the table and scores from 98 down to 64.

Mihai finishes on 98 points, 26 above the next — the rest were playing a different game, it seems.

Emi took second with 72 points — a fine evening, but the gods of whist were busy elsewhere. Emi got past Elena at the very last hand. 2 hands in a row: the table said and did, Emi said and... hoped. It didn't hold.

Third, and on the podium: Elena, with 72 points. Level on points with Emi, and behind only on the tie-break. In the first of the opening eights: Elena said 1, made 4, and the evening was ruined for Emi.

Ana closed the table from the back, on 64 points — there is always a next game. Ana had the table at their feet after the three-card hand on the way down. Whist was there to remind them nothing lasts forever. Ana was ahead of Emi right up to the last hand.

Well played everyone — and especially Mihai!
